A process in which only the search settings from a SharePoint Server 2007 farm are migrated to a new SharePoint Server 2010 farm. This makes it possible to take advantage of the end-user enterprise search capabilities of SharePoint Server 2010 in the event that it is not possible to perform a complete upgrade from SharePoint Server 2007.
